Our pour-your-own Candle Bar in Old Town Scottsdale has been called a 'hidden gem', but you'll have to come experience it for yourself and see! Making candles is a relaxing and creative way to spend a Saturday when visiting town, for a unique date activity, to celebrate a birthday, bachelorette or other occasion, or just because you love candles!
We happily take walk-ins, reservations, and private parties for candle making. You can book a reservation for up to 8 people during regular business hours below; for groups larger than 8, please call us at 480-886-6244 to ensure we can accommodate your group - or check out our private parties here!

Terms, Conditions + Cancellation Policy
Please review our terms + conditions for your candle making appointment:
- We are now requiring a credit card on file to book a reservation - please note this information is secured in a payment gateway and the card will not be charged, unless you ghost us for your appointment ;)
- Please arrive on time for your booking so you have time for the full experience (which lasts up to 1 hour)!
- We require at least 24 hours in advance for booking changes or cancellations.
- Reservations canceled less than 24 hours prior to your booking will be subject to our $25 per person cancelation fee.
- If you are more than 15 minutes late and/or late booking changes cannot be accommodated, your booking may be canceled and cancelation fees may be applied.
Thank you for understanding that our space is limited and we want to accommodate all candle makers as best we can!
Candle Bar FAQ
Scottsdale's Original Candle Making Experience
Light + Bark Candle Co., established in 2017, was one of the first and is still one of the only places in Arizona where you can blend + pour your own scented soy candles!
Here's what you need to know about it:
- How much does it cost?
- How long does it take?
- Do I need a reservation?
You don't need a reservation, as we do accept walk-ins! We recommend reservations on weekends and for parties larger than 4 people.
- When will my candle be ready?
Your candle needs to cool for 2 hours after pouring before you can pick it up.
Same day pick-up: You can come back the same day if there is time before we close. Walk around Old Town Scottsdale to shop or grab food + drinks while you wait! Check out some of our favorite places to do that here.
Future pick-up: Leave your candles after you finish pouring and we will bag them up for pickup any future day we are open (please note we are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays). We ask that you please pick up your candle within 30 days of making it.
Shipping: We can ship your candles directly home if you are traveling or won't make it to Old Town for awhile. Traveling? No problem, you can fly with candles in your carry-on or checked bag.
- Can you ship my candles?
We absolutely ship!
- Can I bring food and/or drinks?
Individual drinks (like water or coffee) are fine! BYO alcoholic drinks and BYO food are available for our private parties only at this time. Click here to learn more about booking a private candle making event, where you can bring drinks, catering, etc!
- What kind of wax do you use?
We use 100% soy wax. We love that it is safe, clean burning, long burning, and renewable.
- What are your fragrances made out of?
- Can I fly with my candle?
Yes, you can! Carry on or check your candle carefully in your luggage.
- Do you have colors, flowers, crystals, etc. to add to our candles?
We do not currently offer these types of add-ons. We like to keep our candles as clean, simple and safe burning as possible.
