We are looking for a part-time Production Manager to join our Light + Bark Candle Co. team! This is a part-time position that we are looking to fill this summer!
At Light + Bark, we are die-hard passionate about making the BEST quality candles around, and having fun doing it. As a Production Manager, making our amazing candles is your core responsibility and it's not a small one. Here's what you need to know about this opportunity:
Location: This job is mainly at our production warehouse in Tempe, AZ (not our retail store in Old Town Scottsdale)
The Details
- Part-time hours, which vary seasonally: ~10-15 hours per week in the summer, and up to 30+ hours per week during fall, winter and spring
- Flexible hours: Built around our needs and your schedule
- Independent work: Production is done in our warehouse, which is great for individuals who enjoy working independently! Our warehouse is community based, so you'll enjoy other small business neighbors and common areas, but get to work in our own dedicated L+B space solo much of the time. If you are a team player who also excels at working solo, this is a great job for you.
The Position
- Hand-pouring our signature, seasonal and private label jar candles, which includes (but is not limited to):
- Prepping, wicking, measuring, pouring, trimming, cleaning, labeling, boxing, and shipping
- Warehouse maintenance, including organization, supply inventory and ordering
- Participating in the creative process of candle making, assisting the owner Jenni with product development from start to finish
- Opportunity to help us grow our wholesale + private label business, which may include: new client acquisition, client communications (email), website updates, etc.
The Requirements from You
- This job requires standing, moving about the warehouse, using your hands, getting a little waxy and oily, and going home smelling good each day
- Must exercise innate and diligent attention to detail! This cannot be overstated. Details are everything in candle making!
- Must have a passion for candles and fragrance
- Must be organized, clean, and tidy in your workspace
- Must be comfortable with computer work (emailing with clients, supply ordering, etc)
- Must be available to work above stated hours
- Must have reliable transportation to and from our warehouse (Tempe) and occasionally our storefront (Old Town Scottsdale)
- Must be able to lift over 50 lbs (boxes of wax and finished candles, e.g.)
- Prior experience working in candles is a HUGE bonus (and may result in a higher hourly wage), but is not required. Experience working in manufacturing, small business, product production, or retail is helpful, but not required.
