As one of the driest states in the country with blazing hot summers, Arizona loves the reprieve of a good rainstorm. The monsoons grace us from June through September, when shifting winds blow in excess moisture and along with it, towering dust storms, powerful gusts, epic lightning shows + soul-rattling thunderstorms. Equally beloved in the southwest is the nostalgic smell of the desert after the rain, caused largely by the oils of the creosote bush releasing into the moist air. We soaked up the nostalgic smell of sweet desert plants, rain-soaked earth, and soft cedar and sandalwood for a truly spiritual desert rain experience.
